BDSM Bondage Toys

Bondage Store | New York | Romantic Depot | NY

Questions with regard to bondage toys and BDSM clothes have so many variables with regard to the acceptability factors of S & M in 2016. First, it kinda depends on your definition of “public space” and how you sexually define and classify “sex” and “kink”. Having sex in public isn’t right, getting off in public and forcing people to watch who havnt consent is totes wrong. Gross. Don’t do it.

But then I also don’t think blasting your top 40 music in a park while I try to relax, or wearing white after Labor Day without my consent is incredibly appropriate either. How about people who yell religious speak at gay pride parades, I absolutely hate that, but legally they can be there. I’m very very upset by those kinds of choices.

Anyways back to the question: As for kinks? Many everyday actions like a haircut, massage or even wrestling (which can and do happen in public spaces) are not only sexualized but turn people on all the time, do people actively jerk off while they undergo these actions? No! Because they get off in appropriate spaces, at home or something. Similarly, wearing leather in public is a kink, but is it wrong that I walk down the street in full leather? Should people kink shame those who wear mascot uniforms professionally and secretly sexually fetishize it? What if he only jerks off at home thinking about it? Is it still wrong?

What one person sees as non-sexual fetish is different than sexualizing and getting off to a fetish or kink. For instance, wrestling in the park in a hood. Is that sexual by nature? Are the people involved turned on and acting upon that? Or is it simply them having fun and expressing themselves to promote a company while wearing hoods?

Then there is the definition of “vanilla public space”. For example, Delores park, which is located right in the middle of all that is gay in San Francisco, is not a “vanilla public space” by any means. There’s a small thing called implied consent, or informed consent if you prefer. Which is to say, you consent to a certain level of gay, nakedness and boisterous behavior when you go to certain parks like Delores, where they have annual “topless day” celebrations by the way. This type of consent is also used, for example, if you went to a circus with a fear of clowns. When you decide to go to said circus, you are making an informed consenting decision that you may be startled by a clown or two, it’s not the clowns fault if you get scared in this scenario.

So finally, to answer your question. Sex in vanilla public spaces around impressionable children is wrong. Penetration in vanilla public spaces is wrong. Two gay man wrestling in a public church with boners, TOTALLY EWW! However, two grown men in puppy masks purchased from Romantic Depot, the best bondage store in NY appropriately clothed, who are not sexually charged or getting off in any way, but expressing themselves, in a very sex positive and open minded part of the city known for nakedness and kink, mid-day on a weekday when children are in school? Totally fine.
